black baby cribs
10 Maret 2010 oleh charnqueWithout having some basic knowledge buying a crib can give a headache to any first time parent. There are five important things to remember when you buy one. These are safety, price, it's functions, the color and the size.
Safety involves making sure the crib is not on a recall list and assembling it correctly. Simplicity, Bedtime Originals and Disney are three companies that make a variety of cribs. Simplicity does have a recall list so please check out their website before purchasing any of their cribs. The website is http://www.simplicityforchildren.com/
Simplicity offers nursery in a box. It not only contains a crib but also a changing table and a dresser. They also offer Crib N' Change Combo, Ellis and Aspen. The Crib N' Change Combo is an innovative design.
Bedtime Originals has Butterfly Kisses, Happy Tails, Super Sports, and Champ Snoopy Crib Bedding Sets. The Champ Snoopy 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set also has an innovative design.
Disney's selections are Pooh's Portraits, Star Shine Mickey, My Little Princess and Winnie the Pooh Taste of Honey Bedding Set. My Little Princess 3-Piece Bedding Set is another innovative design.
Wal-mart carries many of these cribs. At Wal-Mart the nursery in a box and the Crib N' Change Combo are around $200.Wal-mart carries all of the Bedtime Original cribs. The Butterfly Kisses is $49.88. Happy Tails and the Super Sports both cost $59.97. Also Champ Snoopy is $58.88. The Star Shine Mickey is $130. Finally Winnie the Pooh Taste of Honey costs $50.
Target carries the Ellis for $250 and the Aspen for $140.
Amazon carries Disney's My Little Princess for $59.90 and Pooh's Portrait at $154.95.
The functions should include a JPMA certification. This means the crib has been tested and has passed. Check the weight the bed can hold. This will be important for when you change it into a toddler bed. Many convertible cribs can last a child many years so the weight factor is important. There should also be a way to adjust the mattress so it can go lower. It saves money if it is a convertible bed. It should be easy to use without waking up the baby. Also there should be a customer service number for the manufacture encase of any problems. And it also should have a warranty. All of the cribs mentioned offer all of these features.
If you buy the crib before giving birth make sure you get a neutral color. This way if your doctor is wrong about the sex of the baby you won't have to run out and get a new crib. If you really want a gender colored crib I suggest buying a bassinet in a neutral color first and then buy the crib after the baby is born. This way you will know for sure what color to get.
The size of the crib will determine where everything else will go. Determine where you want the crib to go and measure the space. This way when you look at the box you will be able to tell if the crib will fit into your room.
Keep a list of what you want in a crib when you go to the store. When you see a crib you like pull out the list and see if it meets all of the requirements. This is the best way to find a bed. Also don't be in a rush to find it if you have just become pregnant. You have 40 weeks to look for the crib of your dreams.
